Other StuffKevin is a Director and Trustee of Swanswell Charitable Trust, which is concerned with help and support for people in tackling drug and/or alcohol misuse. He is also a Patron and regular presenter at the annual Shrewsbury Darwin Festival. Kevin is a Senior member of The (British) Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence and the Simulation of Behaviour (SSAISB). He is a Visiting Professor at the Czech Technical University, Prague, a Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde and is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at IIITM Gwalior, India. He is on the Advisory Boards of the Instinctive Computing Laboratory, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA and the Centre for Intermedia, University of Exeter. Kevin has an Erdos number of 4 and a Bacon number of 2, giving him an Erdos-Bacon number of 6. He shares the joint lowest number for a Brit with Bertrand Russell, although Russell's Bacon number was obtained from archive material. The Mathematics Genealogy Project indicates that, in terms of scientific research, Kevin is directly descended from: Nicolaus Copernicus, Norbert Wiener, Immanuel Kant, Gottfried Liebniz, Christiaan Huygens and Gabrielle Falloppio. He is also the closest descendant possible of Leonardo Da Vinci and Rene Descartes - neither of whom had research students themselves and hence the trace has been taken from their PhD supervisor. In Google (Directory) - Computers - Kevin appears as one of the top 6 people in the world in the field of Artificial Intelligence - the others being Alan Turing, Marvin Minsky, Ray Kurzweil, Seymour Papert and John MacCarthy. In Google (Scholar) - Kevin has a calculated H-Index of 29, an i10-index of 69 and a total citation score of 2,929 - as at May 2013.
